Job Description:

Independent Living is seeking compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide non-medical, in-home support to elderly clients. Our caregivers help clients maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life by offering practical assistance and meaningful companionship in the comfort of their own homes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Provide companionship and emotional support; engage in conversation and build genuine connections with clients

• Assist with personal hygiene, including help with showers, grooming, and nail care

• Prepare meals and assist with light cooking according to client needs

• Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, organizing, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment

• Support clients with daily routines and promote independence whenever possible

• Observe and report any changes in client condition or needs

• Maintain client privacy, confidentiality, and dignity at all times

 

Requirements:

 

• Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license

• Must be punctual, dependable, and able to follow scheduled shifts

• Must enjoy connecting with people and getting to know clients on a personal level

• Must have a caregiver mentality: compassionate, patient, and service-oriented

• Ability to assist with personal care tasks in a respectful and professional manner

• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

• Ability to work independently and responsibly in clients’ homes

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or a related field (preferred but not required)

• Basic knowledge of elderly care and safety practices

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
